MONDAY MUSINGS: MILESTONES

One thing that can not be denied about moving back to one's childhood hometown is history. It is a joy also to be able to celebrate milestones with people from our past.  Friday night was one of those as the women lighting the candles are matriarchs of our Jewish community celebrating birthdays. (All but one in their 8th decade.)

I find great joy having our paths intersect again ...

Actually, I babysat as a teenager for the children of the two women on the far right. Then I met the woman on the far left while I was a University of Iowa student ('72) teaching her and her 2 sons in a Sunday school parent-tot program.  She later moved to Little Rock and now we both teach classes at LifeQuest, a community senior program. Her granddaughter in the middle is celebrating her 16th and spoke at our Community Interfaith Dinner this past fall...

What can be better than being able to witness L'dor v L'dor -From generation to generation?
