MONDAY MUSINGS: It has become very evident to me with my travels this past month the importance of people traveling with their health information and I don't just mean your health insurance cards.
I have met people who have used their phones to hold their health history, meds, and doctors. But I assure you most of us have not taken this precaution and even if you think you can give this info, what if you couldn't?
Perhaps we could have it in our wallets because in time of an emergency, it could be the difference of life or death or even prolonging an unnecessary predicament.
We had a person on our Canadian trip who had a fall and said she didn't turn in the medical form because she was in good health but in reality, she was allergic to certain meds and did take prescribed medicine. This past weekend I was in an emergency room with a friend who said the wrong dosage of a pill which was the strength strong enough to drug a horse. I can assure you the result was not a pretty scene.
Please do yourself and others a favor and make sure you always have your medicine/ health history with you.
Also always take more medicine with you than you think you need as we never know what might delay our return home.
We deserve the best care possible... Let's treat ourselves better.
