(the Upper Mississippi) but they're back...
"Who?" you may ask.
Why it's the pelicans.
Is it conference/ vacation time? Hundreds of those large beak fowl dot the now unfrozen Mississippi backwaters especially south of Goose Island along 35 S. It's difficult to keep one's eyes on the road as these guys are busy taking off and landing to join their friends.
I have a feeling they saw this bumper sticker and decided to take its advice. What do you think?
This week's photo challenge is any pic having to do with feathers.
Up to your own interpretation.

Cheryl has switched states again. Now she's in Alabama from where she sends us this downy feather and another to tickle our fancy.
Colleen who started her spring cleaning states these are the only feathers she sees on this snowy Friday. There's a disclaimer, " No birds were harmed making this feather duster." I believe her.
Friend Sue emailed me this - look closely. This parrot is in fact a female model who posed for 'world bodypainting champion' Johannes Stötter. The Italian artist spent weeks planning the transformation, taking four hours to paint his subject with ink. The model's arm forms the parrot's head and beak, and her legs form the wing and tail feathers.
In the meanwhile, let's not be like ships/ pelicans that pass in the night, keep in touch, even if it's with a photo. I've heard a picture says a thousand words.

Feathers are fun - how will I choose?
