Six of our eight members were in attendance. :( Susie and Mary were missed, but we still managed to have a good time. The cranberry champagne spritzer didn't hurt.
We tend to laugh a lot normally but the giggles and conversation definitely flowed as the bottles emptied...
We all brought a different hors d'oeuvres and isn't that the best way to enjoy other's cuisine? I love a chance to try a new recipe!
You know I think Dan was in this very same spot last year. Wise man to be within arm's reach of all the food.
There were all types of cheeses, sausages, stromboli, a cast iron cheese dish, salmon patties,
shrimp and the spinach cheese menorah by yours truly in addition to the tiered dessert plates basically emptied by evening's end.
And of course in any gathering, where does everybody always congregate? The kitchen of course!
As the evening progressed we also ended up checking out the newly spruced up den downstairs. The guys ogling the miniature car collection and talking cars. We girls discussed all the redecorating. A new coat of paint has a domino effect, doesn't it?
The house cat didn't reappear upstairs until we all had left that space...
I think all the noise was a bit too much. Did I mention we tend to laugh a lot? Hey, it's part of the reason we are called the 'Happy Bookers.'
