Well, the reason I say the FaceBook challenge was harmless was because it was a 'Gratitude' challenge where you were to post for 5 days something for which you were grateful and to challenge 3 different friends to do the same each of those days. Actually it was a gift you give yourself. Time out for negativity and a reminder to be thankful. We tend to forget there's a lot to be thankful for as one my 'challengees', buddy Sue, has proven.
5 days wasn't enough for Sue. She recently finished a year's worth of gratitude postings which will eventually be made into a book AND due to the insistence of her gratitude followers is continuing...
This past Tuesday we celebrated Sue's birthday at our BIRTHDAY place Famous Dave's where Sue broke tradition and went with the burnt ends in her salad. Heck once a year we can splurge, right? Then Famous Dave's treats the birthday person to a birthday dessert I though we always chose bread pudding because we were both raised in the South (even if folks in St. Louis don't consider Missouri south), but I also recently learned Sue never ate it growing up. Any'hoo' the birthday dessert arrives with a roman candle spewing flames about 2 feet in the air and wouldn't you know my photo card was full! 'Dawg gone it,' I missed Sue's facial expression during the pyrotechnics. What I did capture once the flame had died was a friend with whom I always remember to be thankful especially since we always share our birthday dessert ...

Gratitude Day 413
Today I am grateful for the five grownups in the room last night in Vegas for the Democrats' first debate for the presidential nomination.
Today I am grateful for the five grownups in the room last night in Vegas for the Democrats' first debate for the presidential nomination.
The debate was a debate.
Think about that. It was about substance - what the participants believe, what they have done and will do. It was powerful and substantive.
They were respectful to each other, despite disagreeing at times. And at times they even said positive things - with sincerity - about each other.
Compare that to how the Republicans stood and attacked each other. They were simply mean and nasty to each other. The Republican discussion was about personality and not about the people's business.
Big ideas were discussed last night by the kind of people that we would want to lead us because their concern was about the good of us all, not the selected few who have money, power or the NRA behind them.

Don't worry I will let you know when Sue's 'Gratitude' book comes off the presses!
Have any pics to share for this week / any of the past FOTO FRIDAYS. It's never too late to share.
