Oh the Places You Will Go...

Dr. Suess's Oh, the Places You Will Go was Westby's 4yr Old's Class of 2028's Preschool graduation theme.  The program included receiving certificates but was not all Pomp and Circumstance as it was filled with a lot of animated singing, class videos of field trips, fun class projects and "What I want to be when I grow up." Some kids want to be teachers, a dump truck driver, a Dad, a worker, even Spiderman but listen to what our family graduate wants to be...

Someone spent a lot of time compiling these videos. Kylie's grandfather (Natureman) did the math and figured out  he will be 80 when Kylie graduates from high school. We look forward to attending that Med school graduation! Wink, Wink.

And oh did the songs bring back memories like Hello Everybody, Octopus, Peanut Butter and Monkeys and Alligators. A new one and most appropriate was Here We Come Kindergarten.

These preschoolers are definitely ready for Kindergarten as you can tell by their great listening skills and this was at 6 pm. They had on their listening ears.

And if those kids weren't all so dang cute...
The Principal's graduation speech was really geared to the parents and about guaranteeing one's child's educational success. He just might know something about this since his daughter just graduated Valedictorian in her high school.

Can you guess what his three suggestions were?

1) Read 100 books with your child this summer before  Kindergarten. ( translated spend time reading to your child and impart the love of books and reading)

 2)  Ask your child every day what they did at school and what                              activity was the most fun. ( ask twice since nothing may come out the first time.

 3) Sit down at the table and eat dinner together each night so        your child will learn a lot about communication.

Everybody wanted to be the graduate as they tried on the graduate's cap...
Next year's 8th grade grad
Excited now to go to preschool

tomorrow's middle school grad

but on this day it was only one person in the family's graduation and that was Ms. Kylie's.

Tomorrow we will be heading to the middle school for an 8th grade graduation. We look forward to all the family's promotions!  Oh, the Places You Will Go.
And to all the kids's teachers we say:

  1. Those little graduation hats are so cute. We never did anything like that when we went from grade to grade. I like that it's celebrated....because that means cake...and it's all about the cake.
