FISHER CATCHES VESOLE

Please don't be ticked even though I promised finished transformation makeup/ hair photos in today's entry. Sorry, those will just have be tomorrow. I don't want to leave out Shabbos, the Sabbath, the most important Jewish holiday of the year as it occurs every week starting at sunset on Friday night culminating the following sundown Saturday. 

You see, even when the kids were in high school, we still wanted the family sitting down, all of us eating together to do the traditional blessings even if the meal wasn't always a traditional Sabbath meal with chicken. Wink, wink. They could invite friends to join us and once dinner was over, they could still go out. It isn't that we were so religious but we were traditional and wanted our kids to continue the traditions.

Therefore, Friday evening's wedding rehearsal dinner with a little over 100 out of town guests and the wedding party welcomed Shabbos with our families filling the private room in the Canton House, a popular Atlanta Chinese restaurant as the Sabbath candles were lit on a pair of Lori's candle sticks.

The  blessing over the wine followed recited by the groom, Evan, Lori's Dad, David, and Lori's 90 year old grandfather, Pappa Sherman. 

 Lori's 4 godchildren (her matron of honor Rachelle's two sets of twins)  gave the blessing over the food thanking G-d for the grain of the earth....

The wedding couple welcomed everybody and the Groom's mom, Gail, said lovely words and gave her blessing to the couple. 

And it was time to visit and eat. A variety of dishes donned the lazy susan in addition to the evening's theme 'Fish'er centerpieces. Evan's last name is Fisher.  See if you can spot the 3 different sized mason jars filled with red gummy worms, red and white bobbers and a stick fishing pole with a fish. 

Lori and Evan also took the opportunity to give their wedding party personalized gifts. Here bridesmaid Eva (far L) shares one of the many items in her bridesmaid gift bag, a handmade decoupaged frame with photos of Lori & her.

The back wall was decorated with a fishing net filled with family photos and from the ceiling Pinterest's oversized Chinese red and white bobber lanterns hung.

And the groom's chocolate cake was the coup de gras as Evan beckoned all to see it before it was cut.  His Bride had honored his wish for his favorite Costco's Chocolate cake and decorated it with his life path leading to the wedding couple's European Carribbean honeymoon cruise and their happily ever after. 

And we all wish Lori and Evan the very best in their journey together down life's highway... xoxo
