35 Years Helping Keep Folks Fit, Physically & Mentally

Today the local TV station is supposed to come to our Jazzercise class because we have a human interest story for them.  You see, we in La Crosse, WI are blessed with excellent dedicated instructors who offer an international exercise program to help us keep both physically and mentally fit. The physical part is obvious with choreographed dance and exercise movements to a wide variety of music but there's also a very important social component. Twice a week we go to coffee after class and connect on a different
level as we chat about everything under the sun and have become more than exercise buddies, we share the bond of friendship.

Debbie's 35th & Jenny's 15th

We've had some very special anniversaries to celebrate this summer with both the franchise owner, Debbie Dahl Schultz's 35th and Jenny Pretasky's 15th year of teaching. We embrace any happy occasion to celebrate but especially the dedication of our instructors.  Jazzercise has grown to necessitate six instructors.

So, we hosted a party July 28th at our local coffee shop, Java Vino, with some 70 Jazzercisers in attendance. It was a terrific soiree with yummy appetizers (bruschetta, artichoke dip, cheese, fruit and cakes (3 made by D L Bakery- Jazzercise gals Deb and Lisa pictured below)
a lot of accolades, gifts ... my favorite,
the Jazzercise t-shirt quilt made by our class seamstress and Jazzerciser Nancy.
35 years of T- shirts
Besides the thank yous there was of course photo taking upon our instructor's insistence. Group shots were taken of participants 1-5  yrs, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, 21-25, 26-30 and 30+. It's amazing how many present had celebrated over 30 years participating in the Jazzercise program, attesting to how wonderful the program and camaraderie are due to our lead instructor Debbie.

30 years + participating in Jazzercise
Debbie has built quite a Jazzercise program in our city. We are so very lucky to have her and Jenny.

If the tv reporter really makes it to our class (her last visit was  postponed when President Obama came to town. Can you imagine that?) I will definitely post a link with Channel 19's coverage.

No matter what, all of us Jazzercisers appreciate being able to be part of more than just an exercise program.
Cameraman James, Heather Armstrong  and our illustrious leader Debbie
Channel 19 's Heather Armstrong made it to class and even tried out a routine. We actually  exercised barefoot at one time when the program began but never in a dress. Heather caught on quickly although she insisted she wasn't a dancer.

In case the Jazzercise corporation is checking on this news spot Debbie does not vary/ change Jazzercise's choreographed routines.
