MONDAY MUSINGS: A SPECIAL DAY INDEED

MODAY MUSINGS
are a reflection of a lovely Mother's Day this year as it held more meaning since I shared it with my daughter-in-law as she celebrated her first Mother's Day.

My son outdid himself with beautiful special flowers for both of us along with an attractive plated pancake breakfast,

hiking one of the San Mateo county trails,

Edgewood Trail.

a delicious noodle shop lunch in the park down the hill from their new abode.

Lotus, lamb dumplings, beef lo mein and tendons were especially yummy after the uphill hike .

The next stop was visiting the San Mateo Rose Society's Garden with roses in full bloom.

a couple garage sales and a great find of a free shovel,

a delicious homecooked steak 'n chicken dinner followed by a new Netflix movie Nonnas , a true story about a NYC restaurant with home cooking by real Italian grandmas.

*I almost forgot to mention the  Facetime call from the Atlanta offspring and her family while they were enjoying the Atlanta botanic garden...

What could be better than spending the day with family?

FOTO FRIDAY: FIRST CUT, OUCH

FOTO FRIDAY:   As much I love looking out my window and seeing those first zinnia blooms, they need a haircut just like me. So I took my snippers to them and brought those first blooms inside. It's a win win. I still get to enjoy them and those plants will gear into production mode.

TBT: MOTHERS

TBT: So thankful for Facebook Memories as I don't have to recreate the wheel. This Sunday is that Hallmark designated Mother's Day even though we know every day is Mother's Day...

Remembering the very last Mother’s Day with my Mom 2014. To all those who mother, Happy Mother’s Day!

MONDAY MUSINGS WITH SOUTHERN FRIED LIES

Musing last week's viewing of an Oxygen channel program featuring Southern Fried Lies  which took place in Camden, Arkansas, population ~10,000 inhabitants.

Circumstantial evidence seemed plentiful relating 4 separate untimely deaths which were all connected. What are the chances one person had those 6 degrees of separation?

Death 1 : Fatal car accident with no apparent cause due to loss of control of vehicle car slamming into a tree. Daughter's fiancee.

Initial suspicion arose after an insurance policy was submitted and had been signed 5 days after the insured died in that accident. The guilty got nailed for fraud, served some time but was released early. Mother of that future bride.

Supposedly, according to that same woman, the deceased had asked for cremation which his family said would never have considered.

Apparently the engagement was not going well as the fiance was headed to another woman's home that night. Hmmm.

This same disgruntled future mother of the bride just happens to own a pest control company and she had fed the deceased that day. So although the body was exhumed, no poison was discovered, (One would have to test for specific chemicals.)

This future mother-in- law also happens to be one of those folks who has connections with many citizens in Camden including the coroner. The body was exhumed without notification to the authorities/ family.

That new girlfriend was found shot in her bed with "self-inflicted?" gunshot wound to her stomach. Hmmm. Well, she did have cancer...

And then another couple who knew too much also died.

What are the chances?

Small town life is obviously not so wholesome now, is it?

Nothing like Southern fried lies...

TBT: THE HAPPY BOOKERS

This TBT is about a special group I belonged to in Wisconsin known for its great discussions and fun get-togethers and travels as the Happy Bookers.  They had promised to come visit and lucky me - they descended upon Arkansas last year...

Here's the link to the Happy Bookers AAA:ARKANSAS'S AMAZING ADVENTURE.

FOTO FRIDAY: GONE TO THE BIRDS

 FOTO FRIDAY:
It's amazing that the robins keep coming back to rebuild their nests. The first family hatched this week. I hear them calling Mom... but two of the columns in the carport also have new robin nests. My poor cars...

Nice and warm for my babies...

The neighborhood is filled with family.
