Remember the pinky swear we did as kids? It served as sealing a promise. Perhaps pinky swears need a comeback for our generation as promises made seem to be being broken right and left all around us. Looking back on 2017 here's how the dominoes fell in the U.S. despite promises regarding making us 'great' again. *Economy:
Job creation: Lowest level since 2010
Wages:Average worker wage 4 cent/ hr increase, none felt due to rising medical costs, rich got richer, only 2 % of population got bonuses and some corporations laid off 1,000's of employees
*Health insurance for everybody turned into 3 million citizens with less, Medicaid, Medicare & Social Security slashed
*Prescription drug high costs not reduced
*Tax reform didn't help but drove up deficit, raised taxes on middle classes
*Wall Street greed: more Wall Street billionaire appointees in administration
*Climate change concerns: EPA decimated by appointees
*College affordability untouched
*Retirement crisis, pensions taken away
*Russia's cyber warfare interference
*Precipitated DACA crisis by dividing families, reducing legal immigration, preventing Dream Act and implementation of racist immigration policy
*Infrastructure repair funded by privatization and tolls paid by citizens
* Opioid crisis, addiction problem not helped since Medicaid cut
*Campaign reform now includes voter suppression and campaigns continue to be openly bought by the wealthy
Eegads, we know who's breaking these promises causing destruction rather than improving our society. May individuals show their power in the polls in the upcoming elections.
