Creative Imperatives: Hear, Here

Somehow I got the wrong date for the International Women's talks on UW-L's campus to Celebrate International Women's Day. I had even invited friend Lynn to join me on her day off for the presentations which really aren't until tomorrow at 5 PM. OOPs. But what we found in its stead in the designated room was Hear, Here, a history session of  UWL's School of Arts & Communication week: CREATIVE IMPERATIVES entitled Stories We Live/Stories We Tell.

We got a 'preview' of the downtown mobile phone project which will be 'officially' launched at a party on Sunday, April 12th at the Pamperin Tobacco Company Building from 2-6pm.

See the red sign on the post. There will be 30 locales around downtown with these red signs with a phone number to call to hear a particular story about that locale told by local residents.

The recordings were even recorded on site to add to the authenticity. In the future there will even be the possibility for others to share stories of downtown La Crosse as the diagram above illustrates.

What a wonderful collaborative interactive historic project that all of us can enjoy!  Hear, Here...
