Here's to Living in the Moment

Natureman has a way with words. Last night's New Year's toast differed from previous years and probably for most toasts given worldwide for 2015.
What he did was not to toast what was/will/ could be rather it was simply a toast "to living in the moment. " Wow. I 'm still thinking about it.

Recently I had read a poem that conveys this very idea which seems super appropos to share... May it speak to you as it did me.

The Moment We Live In Is Now
by Rawbecca Ann Lotus Gienow

The future is ready
right here in the Now
The past can be potent
right here in the Now
The past can be potent
but it’s here in the Now
Time is an illusion
That takes place in the mind
Searching for meaning
and a way to define
The various things
that take place out of time
For when did you
remember a thing in the past?
Or when did you create
a thing in the future?
Stop looking for portends
or to make all things last
For all that takes place
Is here in This moment
Awakening the seed
of this life to be opened
Memories come hurling
from a distant past
Thoughts create a process
that give form to some future
But it is here in This Now
that we can seize The Moment
It is here that our minds
are vital and potent
The beauty and passion
Make it a day
Breathing it in, in the best possible way
Not worrying or fretting
and living with rations
But taking it in
So our dreams can be fashioned
Yes some memories will pop
though some will not
And our thoughts will create
giving birth to our state
Generating the forms
that we chose to meditate
And these will materialize
on some future date
But all that takes place
Is here in The Now
There is only one heaven
And it lives in This Now
Not regretting the past
And not worrying the future
It is in this Power Of Now
where all life begins
The only place we can change
the state we are in
Whether it be mind or it matter
It starts from within
By living This moment
Where life always begins

HAPPY 2015! Here's to LIVING IN THE MOMENT.

  1. Happy New Year to both of you as well. It is best to live in the moment, but that being said..it is difficult to turn off the chatter or what was and what might be. I'll try to be better at that this year.
