Elvis, a Locavore?

During my Little Rock visit friends Kaye and Shep took me to visit GOOD FOOD by Ferneau in its new locale. You'll find it in the Argenta old market place on Main Street. - Just look for the old clock above its doors.

Once located in Hillcrest this healthy, gluten and sugar free  caterer/take out/ eat in is in a spacious, new, fun space. You can have meals designed specifically for your dietary needs whether you have certain food allergies/ in training/ whatever...

Daily menu specials are posted on the blackboard.

Locavores will be pleased to view the long deli case filled with  fresh and local produce, meats and menu items made from scratch.

How many food cases does a customer usually see with fresh amaranth growing and being clipped for usage?

Dip containers and all types of local seasonal squash besides the fresh meat were on display in the glass counter area the day we visited ...

With a view into the busy kitchen you can watch meals being prepared as you either wait for your order for pick up/ sit down at any of the numerous tables to eat in.

A retro long white bar with chrome chandlier lights take one back to a different era. Sleek container planters don the tables planted with succulents.

The ambiance is open and not until one ventures into the restrooms does one realize someone is an Elvis aficcionado.
Do poke your head in to see how they're decorated!

Very clever indeed as one of the girls room's walls are Elvis lyrics and the boys room is truly for Taking Care of Business (TCB).

As for the food I only sampled a small praline like dessert but if that is any indication of Ferneau's gluten and sugar free concoctions, you are not going to be disappointed.

Anyhow if I lived in/was visiting the Little Rock area, I'd head to  Argenta and try out GOOD FOOD by Ferneau. Let me know what you think. SO far the reviews have been great...

The last time I advertised for a business it got 2,000 hits that day so tell them at GOOD FOOD Karen from Wisconsin sent you and who knows maybe they 'll give me a free dessert next time I'm in. I'll even share. Wink, wink.
